NAR’s Home Ownership Matters Bus Tour has garnered interest and drawn attention to the importance of home ownership throughout its travels.
As policymakers consider changes to government programs and incentives that could dramatically change the nature of home ownership in this country, the Home Ownership Matters Bus tour is bringing these issues directly to people across the United States, and asking them to join in protecting the American dream of home ownership.
In many cities during the tour, the bus-tour team will pull up to a consumer event to speak to the public about current housing issues, such as extending the National Flood Insurance Program, fighting the proposed qualified residential mortgage (QRM) rule that would require down payments of 20 percent, and continuing federal support for home ownership, and invite them to join NAR's efforts.
