Fierce winds and rain bring strong weather patterns to New Hampshire and Maine

You may already know that many parts of New Hampshire and Maine were hit with strong winds and driving rain on Thursday during the day and even more so on Thursday evening.

Strong winds damages many parts of town, bringing down power lines, trees, and damaging homes.  The news stations are reporting that over 300,000 people have lost power.  I live in Somersworth New Hampshire and lost power around 10:00 pm on Thursday.  I was lucky enough to have power restored last night, Friday around 7:00.  Others in the area have not been so lucky!

The photos above were taken on Shore Road in Ogunquit Maine around 1 pm.  I was on the road to visit a friend at The Cliff House Resort and Spa when I captured these huge waves.  They might be a little tough to see, but the waves in my estimate were at least 15 ft. tall at some point.  Pretty Cool!

I'll be out snapping photos around Somersworth and Dover later today.  I'll post them later.

Bill, good luck with that front.  We just experienced it and it wasn't pretty.

I used to live in New Hampshire years ago and we had high wind and storms almost every winter it seemed.  Hope everybody is ok and you got your power restored.

Can you believe the weather we have been having?  It just keeps snowing and raining here in the northeast.  I can't wait for spring!
